020 Home-made pasta

My first time making pasta. I cooked based on what I remembered when one French man’s taught me few months ago…

材料：

全粒粉　1カップ

卵　1個

塩　一つまみ

野菜　適当にあるもの

手順：

１）材料（野菜以外）をまぜ、ねり、のばし、きる

２）野菜を適当な大きさに切る

３）沸騰したお湯に①と②を入れ、好みの硬さになったら火を止め、水を切って完成♪

018 Library cat

There is a cat living in & around the library.

図書館内（と周辺）に居住する一匹の猫。

The librarians actually take care of her, feed her and let her come in the library when it is open. There is even her favorite couch. When it closes, the cat must go outside though.

実際、司書の人たちは餌をやったり、図書館に招いたりと世話をしている。猫のお気に入りのソファもある。ただ、閉館する際には、警備の都合上、外に追い出さなくてはならない。

It makes me happy… the library with a cat!

猫OKな図書館…なんか良い☆

 

017 Fishing day?

016 Grapefruit bread

I made marmalade from the grapefruits growing on the garden. And then, I added it to the dough to make bread. In the end, the bread got nice smell, color and a bit of sweet flavor of grapefruits!

庭になっているグレープフルーツを使ったジャムを作り、それをパン生地に混ぜて焼いてみた。グレープフルーツの香りと色、そしてほんのり甘さが良い具合♪

One morning when I woke up, a flower just outside of my window was blooming.

とある朝、起きると窓の外の花が咲いていた。色鮮やか♪

012 Sourdough Bread

Using the apple sourdough, I have been baking bread quite few times.

手作りのりんご天然酵母種を使って、パン作りに挑戦中。

Not only due to the nature of sourdough, but also due to me using no recipe or measurement, the shape, texture, smell and taste never be the same. Anyway, they are all GOOD!!

「天然酵母らしさ」のみならず、「レシピや計量を使わない」ことから、形や食感、香り、味…全て異なります。でも美味しい！

 

011 Tramping ＠ the Mohaka River

On one weekend, we went tramping along the Mohaka River.

とある週末、Mohaka Riverへハイキングへ出掛けた。

After a nice few hours of walk along the river, we got to the lodge. There I saw a white beach (?) in front. It is JULY! So, I wore bathing suits and with bare foot, I ran to the beach (?)… Oh, no!!! It is frost, cold ice!! Not beach, warm sand!!

川沿いを数時間歩いた末、小屋へ着いた。そこで目の前に観たのは白い砂浜。高ぶる気持ちと共に水着に着替え、裸足で駆け出した先は…、予想外！白い砂浜かと思っていたのは白い霜！！

Well, afterwards, we enjoyed a hot spring anyway.

何はともあれ、その後、温泉を満喫♪

010 Auctions

Every Wednesday, there is an auction in the town. The auction is on what were left at the houses where owners passed away. There are all sorts of things such as furniture and electric devices that are sold often cheaper than 2^nd hand stores.

街では毎週水曜日、亡くなった方の物品（遺品？）の競り市が催される。ベッドやタンスといった家具、電話やパソコンといった電気機器、鍋や食器の台所用品…。一般の中古屋よりも比較的安価で取引される。

It is my 1^st time to find such an auction. Is this popular in other place in the world as well?

正直、この類の競り市は初めてである。果たしてこの類の競り市は珍しいのだろうか？

ちなみに…、競りの流れの概要

１）各地から遺品を集めてくる

２）月曜日と火曜日に一般に公開される（電気機器が機能するかの確認も可能）

３）水曜日に競り開催（買取人は卸値の1割を運営者に支払う）

009 Sheep traffic

While we were driving on the road, we hit sheep traffic. A group of sheep was just moving from one area of farm to the other crossing the road.

道路を運転中に出くわしたのは農地から農地へ移動途中の羊の群れ。

The car was one surrounded by approximately hundreds of sheep. After they left, there were their brown/black drops on the road though.

100頭程の羊に囲まれた車。彼らが去った後の道路には、茶色と黒色の落し物（排出物）が…。

I guess it is usual here in NZ, but for me it is not! So, let’s take a photo ;-)

ニュージーランドでは普通の光景なのだろうが、私にとっては初めて。思わず写真を撮ってしまった。

008 Apple sourdough

Using an apple I got from a farmer, I tried to make sourdough. This is my 3^rd sourdough to make in my life.

農家で働く女性から頂いたリンゴを使って天然酵母を作ってみた。人生で3作目の天然酵母になるのかな…。

1週間かけて出来た酵母と全粒粉を混ぜ、捏ね、寝かせ…、焼きあがった手作り天然酵母パン！香りも味も口ざわりも…美味しい♪

材料：

りんご　1個

お湯　2カップくらい

砂糖　大さじ1くらい

手順：

１）適当な大きさに切ったりんごと砂糖を蓋付き容器に入れ、お湯を注ぐ

２）1日に１、2回蓋を開け、空気を入れ、振る

３）1週間くらいして、泡が落ち着き、アルコールの匂いがしてきたら天然酵母種の出来上がり♪

007 Winter flowers

It is middle of the winter here now.

現在こちらは真冬。

My brain and body are not used to have winter in the month of July…

どうも「7月に冬」というのに頭も体もまだ慣れていない様である。

Well, there are winter flowers blooming as well as sprouts waiting for the spring.

それでも辺りには冬の花々が咲いている。そして、春を待つ芽も…。

005 The 1st Flat

After all, I found my first flat. It is nice to have a room on the east side where you get the sun shine in the morning♪

探し回った挙句に見つけた一軒の借家（部屋）。一軒家の一部屋を借りることに。東に面した窓から入ってくる朝日が気持ちが良い♪
