070 Full Moon on the Beach

After the sunset

While the sky was turning into darker and darker,

From a far away distance across the ocean,

Orange round face came up.

It was just as if it were the first time for the moon to show up on the earth; she was a bit shy looking at us from a far distance first, and then as the time passed, she came closer to us and shined stronger.

“It was very nice meeting you, moon J”

日没後、刻々と闇が空を包み込んでいる最中、海の彼方に顔を出したオレンジ色のまんまる顔。

なんだか初めてこの地球に顔を出すかの様。そおっと顔を出し、遠くから私達を眺めていたにも関わらず、後々には、私達の頭上で輝き始めた月。

「はじめまして、お月さん。」

069 Beach over the hills

My first time going to the beach in New Zealand♪

Well, but to get to the beach, we got to go over the hills, hills and hills.

ニュージーランドに来て以来、初めて訪れるビーチ♪

っと、その前に乗り越えなくてはならない丘！丘！丘！

068 Sushi making

Maki-sushi & Temari-sushi

「巻き寿司」と「手毬寿司」を作ってみました。

067 Brandy Cake

ブランデーケーキ。

①　バター100g、砂糖100g、卵1個を順に加えながら、適宜、泡だて器で混ぜる。

②　振り混ぜた小麦粉とベーキングパウダーを加え、180℃のオーブンで20分くらい焼く。

③　粉砂糖にブランデーを加え混ぜ、アイシングを作り、冷めたケーキの上に塗る。

066 Chilling cows

There is a bike lane along the river, which, some parts, across daily farm; cows are on the field and can be on the lane. It is just like a wild cow show; you can enjoy watching them, munching grass, resting under trees, milking calves etc…

Ohps! Some of them got horns; be careful!!

川沿いの自転車＆歩行者用道路。その一部（大部分）では牛が放し飼いにされている。まるで牛のサファリパークの様に草を頬張る牛、木の下で寛ぐ牛、乳を飲む仔牛…な等など愉しめる。

…と思ったら、角が付いている牛を発見！よく見ると、意外と角付き牛が多いことに…。腹立たせないように気をつけなくちゃ。

065 Bathing QP

The river by the house; though it runs just by houses, water is clear and (seems) clean.

家の近くを流れる川。透明な水が流れる。

図書館の猫、MistyとQP。「QP、後ろ！気をつけて！」と思わず言いたくなるようなMistyの姿勢と目つき。

062 Apple Ciders

Not only wines but also apple ciders are enjoyable in this area.

この近隣では、ワイン作りだけではなくアップルサイダー作りも行われている。といいうことで、「ワインの利き酒」ならぬ「アップルサイダーの利き酒」に♪

061 Birds

I have found it that there are more birds around here than anywhere I have lived in the past. Every morning, before the sunrise, I can hear variety of birds singing.

最近気付いたこと。

この辺り（ニュージランド全域！？）の鳥の種類と数の多さに。

朝、日の出前から様々な鳥のさえずりが聴こえてくる。

060 Chai Cake

My first time baking “chai cake,” which was for my friend’s birthday ;-)

初めて「チャイケーキ」を焼いてみました。香りも味も…なかなかです。

①　バター100g、砂糖100g、卵1個を順に加えながら、適宜、泡だて器で混ぜる。

②　（インスタント飲料の粉末）チャイ15g、スパイスミックス適量を加え、混ぜる。

③　振り混ぜた小麦粉とベーキングパウダーを加え、180℃のオーブンで20分くらい焼く。

059 Morning rainbow

While I was running in the morning, a long rainbow came out. I ran back home, got a camera and here is the shots. Oh, what a gift! Though the day has just started, my day was already fulfilled.

朝のジョギングに出掛けたら長い虹が空に掛かっていることに気付いた。急遽、家に戻り、カメラを持って外に飛び出し、パシャパシャパシャ。なんとも素敵な贈り物を朝から受け取ってしまいました。

058 four seasons in a day

The weather here changes pretty frequently.

One day, we had a sunny blue sky in the morning, and then started raining as well as the temperature dropped, and then in the late afternoon, there was an orange sun setting on the mountains and a rainbow on the ocean. In the evening, rain with strong winds came, the temperature again dropped and on the next morning, there was flost on the ground.

この辺りの季節は変わり易いことで有名。

とある日、青空が広がる気持ち良い朝かと思ったら、昼前には急に大きな雲に覆われ大雨が降り、夕方には止み、西の山の上に夕日、東の海の上に虹が顔を出し、それから夜にはまた雨、そして強風が到来し…、朝には霜が下りていました。

057 Grapefruit Jam

It seems like most of the houses around here has at least one citrus tree such as orange, lemon or grapefruit. The house I am staying in has one lemon tree and one grapefruit tree which we cannot eat all of the fruits.

So, I tried to make grapefruit jam to preserve. Well…, making jam from grapefruit is not easy, or I just made a mistake? It did not turn as thick as I thought it would be; it stays liquidly afterwards.

この辺りの家々には柑橘類の木が必ずと言って良いほど植えられている。オレンジにレモン、グレープフルーツ。

私の住む家の庭にも食べきれないほどのグレープフルーツがなっています。そこで、グレープフルーツジャムを作ることに…。と、あれれ？出来たのは水気が抜けない中途半端なブレープフルーツジャム。
