226 Gifts from the garden
Fresh green colour vegetables and herbs,
just harvested from the garden.
初々しい緑色をした野菜にハーブ。庭から収穫したてです。
224 Ball Bread
Since there was no baking pan, I used
a bowl to bake bread. It actually turned out to be nice shaped bread.
適当な焼き型が見当たらなかったので、ボールに入れてパンを焼くことに…。まん丸の形をした可愛らしいパンになりました♪
223 Osechi (Special meal for New Year)
Osechi is a special meal we
only eat on the New Year's Day in Japan.
Originally they were prepared before
the New Year's Day so that people could take a break from cooking on the actual
New Year's Day. Therefore most of the dishes are cooked with sugar, vinegar and
spices for preservation. Each dish also has meanings mainly wishing for good
lucks for the New Year.
This time, I made osechi-like-dish,
not the true traditional one, with the ingredients I had in the kitchen at that
moment.
Ebi, prawn symbolising a
fortune for a long life until our backs bend.
Kinshi tamago, egg symbolising a
fortune for wealth.
Namasu, pickled vegetables,
symbolising happiness and celebration.
Kuromame, beans symbolising a
fortune for health and work.
Zoni, dimpling soup
ありあわせの材料でお節料理（もどき）を作りました〜♪
海老、茶巾、なます、黒豆（実はヒヨコ豆）、雑煮…、十二分お正月（気分？）を味わうことができました〜☆
222 The first sunrise for the year
It is one of the Japanese traditions
for people to view the sunrise on the New Year's Day, the first sunrise for the
year. It is believed to bring a good luck for the New Year.
So, I went to see the sunrise in the
city of Wellington, but unfortunately the clouds were covering where the sun
was supposed to be rising up from. Later that day, about 1 hour after the
sunrise time, the sun came out in between clouds.
新年の幸運を祈りつつ初日の出を拝もうとしたのですが、生憎の曇り空。日の出の時刻より1時間程遅れて雲の合間に太陽が顔を出してくれました〜♪
221 Happy New Year, 2013!
A happy new year to all!
The year actually changed while I was
in a car heading to the Victoria Mountain in Wellington. Although I was
going to have the New Year on top of the mountain, looking down the city and
watching fireworks, I got lost on the way, and the year has changed
by the time I got to the mountain. Ohps!! This year may be life that, me
getting lost in my life...
Anyway, once I got to the top,
there was a great view; lights of the city at night and a lovely
morning dawn.
May the year of 2013 be filled with much happiness for all...☆
新年あけましておめでとうございます。
Wellingtonの都市に隣接して聳え立つ小さな丘Victoria Mountainの頂上で新年を迎えようとしていたのですが、道中、道に迷っている最中に年が明けてしまいました…。夜景を目の前に打ち上がる花火を見ようとしていたのに…。新年早々「道に迷う」なんて、なんだか来る私の一年を暗示しているような気が…。
年越しは逃したものの、丘からの景色、夜景に朝焼けは素敵だったので行き甲斐はあったかと◎
2013年、皆様にとって幸多き１年となりますように☆
